At the Track with OMRRA


		

Arrival:

  • Be early (there is always something)
  • Pay gate fee for self and crew/guest.
  • Receive schedule for days events.
  • Drive to mid-straight crossing and cross when directed.
  • If unattended do not open gate if closed. Look both ways before entering track.
  • Enter Pit from left side of inside tower.
  • Locate pit spot.
  • Do not block fire lanes.
  • Do not pit in Pocket Bike area.
  • Do take only as much space as is required.
  • Do park support vehicles not essential to pit operations out of pit area.
  • Instruct visitors to park outside of track and use pedestrian bridge.
  • Share power lines/receptacles with your pit neighbors when possible.
  • When setting up canopies insure they are securely tied down.

Pre event:

  • Go to registration to get Tech Forms.
  • Bring gear for gear tech, oil container to remove oil from track, medical form, and license.
  • Verify events entered.
  • Verified correct Electronic scoring device ID number.
  • Verify Sponsor list.
  • Push bike to tech. (No Engines before 9:00)
  • Remove lowers before arrival for inspection of engine. Bring lowers/fluid retaining device, electronic scoring device with batteries, and Bike tech slips for each event entered.
  • If forms are not turned in rider will not be entered in grids and will not be scored.
  • Riders meeting at bike tech area @ 8:30
  • Riders not present may be refused participation in day's events.
  • Review news of track conditions, late changes in day's events, etc.
  • Check Grid postings at inside tower to determine grid spot.
  • Verify classes entered, bike number, etc.
  • Stay hydrated

Event Conduct:

  • Listen for announcements on overhead speakers or on radio.
  • Proceeded by horn blast
  • The radio stations only available on some radios, at the bottom of the dial.
  • Proceed to pit out, next to bike tech.
  • Enter hot pit lane and stay to right, away from track wall.
  • Wait for signal from safety workers to enter track.
  • Observe all flags and safety workers instructions.
  • For practices or warm ups
  • Take one or two laps to come to full speed.
  • Watch for riders coming onto track with cold tires,
  • Watch for riders leaving the track before close of session
  • Slower bikes/riders should stay to the right on front or rear straight
  • DO NOT DRAFT OTHER BIKES.
  • No weaving
  • At end of session checkered flag presented, take cool down lap.
  • DO NOT slow immediately after passing checkered flag.
  • Drive completely clear of turn 9 and take cool down lap exiting next pass of turn 9.
  • For race/time trials
  • Take one warm-up/sighting lap
  • Slow corner entry gradually increase drive out.
  • NO WEAVING
  • Exit T-9 completely before rolling out of throttle
  • Slow to safe speed to take grid position.
  • If in a following wave with wave start, put bike into neutral
  • When "1" board raised, wave which is being flagged off engage gear prepare for start.
  • If in following wave raise hand to indicated non-start.
  • If issue arises, raise hand but DO NOT move while number board raised.
  • When daylight presented between green flag corner and left hand, GO!
  • If in next wave, remain in current row, engage gear and prepare for start in place.
  • Crossed flags indicate 1/2 way point
  • White Flag indicates 1 lap remains
  • Checkered flag, finish.
  • Drive completely clear of T-9 and take cool down lap exiting next pass of turn 9.
  • Exiting track normally
  • When possible signal intention before entering T-7 with raised hand. Stay right!
  • Ride to right (inside) of turn 8 exit raise hand or stick out left leg to signal intention to exit track.
  • Exit track by remaining fully to right into, thru, and out of, T-9.
  • Issues on track
  • RAISE HAND, (Review 2 stroke complexity)
  • Leave racing line
  • If safe to continue proceed to track exit at T-9
  • If unsafe, exit with care make best effort to clear impact areas (inside of corner exits)
  • Unplanned adventures in high speed gardening, bike dismantling, unscheduled flights, surfing the hides, filing off the corners, getting air time by announcer, visiting safety crew, doing limbo, divorcing the bike etc,,,
  • Relax. It's too late to fight it.
  • Open eyes, you wont want to miss this.
  • Wait until you've come to stop.
  • Relax!
  • Open eyes, yes, again.
  • Look at ground. Is it blurry?
  • If yes, stay put, you may still be sliding, or whacked in head.
  • If ground not blurry, look for bikes coming towards you. (Clear impact zone).
  • Look for nearest safety worker, go toward them/follow their directions.
  • Do not attempt to get bike until certain you are not injured.
  • Relax and watch the rest of the show.
  • Return to pits when instructed, or transported.
  • Re-tech bike and gear after repairs completed.
