Updates: April 3, 2001

Those competitors racing machines that fit into the 450 Superbike, Middleweight Superbike, 650 GP Twins, Open Classic Superbike, 125GP, Ultra-Lightweight Superbike, 250, 500, or Open Vintage specifications will be gridded with their respective classes during the "Expert" events. Novices competing on these machines will start at the back of the grid and must wear and orange vest. Graduation for these riders is successful completion for six (6) race weekends. These are the bikes that were formerly considered NV1, NV2, and NV3 with the exception of Open Twins.

Riders racing machines that fit into the Open Twins class have been moved up to NV5.

Updates: May 12, 1999

  • Due to the need to work through traffic, 10 seconds will be added to the overall times required to achieve a passing mark in an event.

  • Novice riders on bikes in the following classes (2V, 5V, OV, US, & LS) will be gridded not with the Novice class, but at the back of the regular clubman grid. This has been done for safety reasons. The closing speeds approaching the slower machines in Novice was too great. The affected Novices must wear a brightly colored shirt to be supplied by OMRRA.

  • When a "Rain Race" is declared by the head scorer, all novices who successfully finish the race (i.e. no DNF) will be given a "pass" in the event. No more than two such passing marks may be applied towards a novice's total.
