I'm thinking it used to be Jan. 15.
Keeping one's number wasn't a question, but snatching an abondoned one was all about post mark dates. Does anyone here know what a post mark is?

I bought my last number (13). It cost me a beer. I sold it for a sixxer of cans. Cold cans.

Good to see your still keeping and eye on things. Going to be on the hill this year? (I know what your team name stands for)

"stealing" wasn't the right word considering I already contacted the person about it. I heard they were not going to renew and wanted to ask if they would mind if I tried to submit for it.

Do people actually steal numbers? Seems silly to do that.

Standard practice in the past has been: OMRRA must receive your membership form AND payment, by February 15th, at midnight, via mail or fax (or any accepted practice, say email scan). The way we used to do it was this: When a membership form was sent in, the person requested either the same number (then the form could be processed, etc. and all was good). If they wanted a different number, or something like "lowest number available", then the form was date stamped/time stamped, and put in a pile. On 2/16, I used to go through and give out the numbers based on the earliest request for them received. Say "Tim" wants #66, but "Bob" put in a request for #66 3 days earlier than Tim. Bob gets the number.

It's totally up to the office to do it now, so I'm not sure if that's still the way they do it, but I don't know that there's anything wrong with the process, so it's probably still the same.

I may have missed it, but is the new membership form up anywhere? I've got to renew MY membership (not my race license...).

The 2012 form is not available yet because OMRRA is getting a new fax number. To avoid confusion and undeliverable membership forms, we want to hold up until the new line is installed. As soon as I know when that will happen I will post it up, hopefully its by Monday.

Jenny I was just joshin about the stealin. I thought everyone knew not to take the humping panda to literal.

My serious question was/is renewal and loss of the ability to renew a number are the same date? Isnt there a past champion clause giving a grace period as well.

Also what is the cost to renew?

Sorry for the seemingly stupid questions, Its just things to keep in mind for those thinking about not renewing for one reason or another.
