Default What is my SV650 legal for?

I am new to OMRRA, and have an '02 SV. It has stock bore/stroke, but flatslides, and gsxr susp.

    I'm thinkin:

    6T
    4S
    MC
    MS

    Thoughts??

    Thanks,
    Brian

Now Tyson would you recommend putting the SV in the 600 classes? I know what you would do but for us normal people?

Thanks for inquiring Brian. Tyson's correct on the classes you are eligible to race in. Your flatslides make you ineligible for 4S and MP. The GSXR forks would do the same (if that's what you mean by suspension), but a GSXR rear shock would be allowed in the supersport classes.

Chris is also right concerning the thought of running an SV in the other classes Tyson mentioned. Open Twins Superbike runs with Open Supersport. I would strongly recommend that you race with OMRRA in the SV classes a couple of times to see how big the step up would be to these other classes, and the mix of bikes on track at the same time.

shoot: I was trying to figure out why everyone said 4S wouldn't work, then I flipped the page in the rulebook..."650cc 4valve water cooled 4 stroke twins can kiss our..." or something like that...

    oh, well

Next question: can someone tell me why MS only allows 600cc multi's up to 1990, and MC will allow up to 1997? shouldn't the 'classic' be the older bikes? and if anyone races these two, which is more competitive?

and I would only care if the SV was eligible for both MS and MC, of course

Yes, thanks, Jon. Middle weight classic superbike is what I was calling "MC". Is that incorrect?

I'm thinking I will be in the middleweight superbike/middleweight classic superbike "heat", my question is which class should I target (because it looks like my SV is legal for either)?

Middle weight classic superbike is new this year so there might not be many entries. I did not notice that it ran with other SV classes. Middle Weight Superbike pays contingency so that may be the better choice.
