Default The Gulf oil catastrophe has reached us here in Portland.

My wife Cathy, NOAA Branch Chief, has been asked to go to NOAA's souteast region headquarters office in St Petersburg FL to help manage - among other things - NOAA's response to the BP disaster and recovery planning. She leaves next week for a minimum stay of 6 months. Given the scope of the work there, this relocation could easily go on much longer.
I will follow her there in two weeks and look to put my Coast Guard Master's license to work.
There are many aspects of life in Portland that I will miss. OMRRA, PIR, and my racing community friends are high on that list.

Roy, I will miss you SO much - you have been a welcome and great addition to both the Board, and OMRRA as a whole. Thank you very much, and thanks to both of you for helping out in such a hard hit area.

I'm surprised they haven't called Bill Carter and Jim Thompson. I'll bet the OMRRA corner workers could handle it!
