I had a great weekend! Finally made some headway on bike setup, still room for much improvement, but mucho better.
Open SS
Gridded 3rd, got a good start and thought I had the hole shot until Alan and Sully outbroke me...no surprise there. I still havent' figured out how deep to go on starts with the short straightaway. IIcouldn't hang with Alan, and Sully got a little gap on me. I put my head down, but couldn't make any ground. Seemed like I kept the same gap behind Sully, so I was pretty pleased with that. Finished a lonely 3rd, but was happy with how the bike felt.

Gridded E1! Sweet, I love comin thru the pack :D I got a heck of a start and ended up 4th going into T1! This time I wasn't gonna let those fast fockers get away from me! I saw that Alan went down in T9 (glad he's okay), scary seeing a bike in the wall like that. I was able to work my way up to Sully and proceeded to get some '06 Lippis attitude! I wanted it!!! I could tell he was having a little trouble with the bike, but he was still fast. We had a great battle, swapping spots a few times. I was so stoked to be racing with him again, it seems like it's been so long since I've felt confident on a bike and was able to ride like I know I can. I really thought I could pass him on the last lap, but just couldn't find the spot. I had a good run out of T9 and came pretty close at the line. Finished 3rd. This race was the most fun I've had on a bike since 2006, I was hootin and hollering on the cool down lap, felt great!
Best lap was a 1:08.29, still a long ways to go, but I'm improving each round.
Special thanks to Eric and crew. I blew the motor last round and they went to bat for me BIG time! Eric went way beyond the call of duty to get her done for me. I can't say enough about Eric and the crew, Jay, Papa Bear, Poo, Nolan and Sarah are da snizzle! They treat me like gold! My Bazaz system is frickin amazing, and Eric changed up the motor a little bit, it was a frickin missile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to Barry for help with suspension and and excellent tire compound choice! She worked good! Thanks Butters for consistent safe tire mounting and hard work.
Big shout out to EASTSIDE MOTOSPORTS for their continued support, even though I jumped ship from WMRRA this year...thanks Tobin!!!
Big hetero-sexual hug to my homey Sammy the butterknife, having a blast pitting with him and his lovely fiance Stephanie...great times down on the "other side of the tracks" ha ha. Sammy is the real deal this year, just need to get the chassis bugs worked out...watch out!!!
Thanks to the corner workers and OMRRA volunteers, great job this weekend!
Lastly, thanks to my pit boss Don Wicks...he totally has my back and takes great care me and my bike...couldn't have done it without ya bud!
hopefully I didn't forget to thank anyone...sorry if I did!
cheers!
